Yesterday we made a lovely walk in Zwalm.
The weather was lousy but the area stunning and the company pleasant.
Ebony though, was exhausted but she did the whole walk very bravely.
Now are little one is still sleeping on the couch.

Sloeber

This weekend I've got mail from Sloeber himself (blog 01/10/09). He wanted to let me know how happy his female boss is with the birthday card. Thank you for the mail and the beautiful pictures!

One scary moment this Friday.
The female boss came home with two needles and yarn.
She was planning to knit me legwarmers (?).
Okay, I'll wear them on the couch but no walks with those weird looking things!

October is halloween month

The special offer of the month proofs it.
Also eBONY feels great this month cause she looks a little bit like a pumpkin
but than walking on 4 legs.
Her well curved body also shows she likes good food that's why we love to give you this recipe:

Soft pumpkin pie (cake)
ingredients:
100 gr butter
150 gr sugar
4 eggs
150 gr self-raising flour
500 gr pumpkin
100 gr crunched walnuts
50 gr honey

Let's bake away:
Stir the butter softly through the sugar.
Add also the eggs and the sieved flour.
Skin and cut the pumpkin in large pieces.
Cook and mash to pulp.
Stir the pulp, the crushed walnuts and the honey through the blend.
Add the blend in a buttered cake tin.
Put it in a preheated oven and bake for 45 min on 180° C.
Enjoy!

It's about a year now that Saartje and I went to Morocco.



A beautiful journey along the imperial cities.
Morocco is a very diverse country, with magnificent landscapes, friendly locals and exotic cities to explore. Not forgetting the medinas with their magical colours, real labyrinths protected by their ramparts, organised around souks and market squares.

eBONY all wrapped in, reminded me this week of this "arabian time".

Back to school

We wish all the children a fresh start
and a great year at school!

Fauna and flora

For this first school day, we love to give you some biology lesson.
We saw this summer this beautiful butterfly fluttering around the garden.
We were very impressed by his wonderful colours and size.
so we took some pictures and went looking for it on the net.

This is what we found:
The large butterfly is a Tiger Swallowtail butterfly (Papilio glaucas).
It is a strong flier with distinctive yellow and black striped markings on its wings and body. It has a wingspan of 9-16.5 cm.They are called swallowtails because they have long "tails" on their hindwings which look a bit like the long, pointed tails of swallows.
You can see him from the end of April till June and from July till September.
The Tiger Swallowtail butterfly frequents woodlands and grasslands.
They drink sweet flower nectar
In Belgium he is rather rare so it's cool if you see one.

A few birthdays

My father became 67 on August the 17th.
Also a real lion (horoscope) with maybe a little less hair.



Bruno's birthday was on the 21th. This nice, cool boy is already 8 years old. He has a new friend. Tina is her name and she is a spanish waterdog. She was the new model for © ebony cards.



and last but not least: Zoë turned 5.
Our groovy niece is a big girl already.

Belgium scores!

China gave us spectacular Olympics for 2008.
The Belgian sports people did very well and we even went home with a silver and gold medal!
Silver for the 4 ladies, Kim, Elodie, Hanna and Olivia on the 4x100m and Tia, who won the gold medal in the women's high jump.
Real "Girl Power"!

For her birthday we went to see Wall-E.
Just like Freya did, Wall-E also stole our heart.
The movie is marvellous!
